Bag of Blessings
Over the last four years, the Raise Me Up Foundation has grown, spreading our impact into the general health and welfare of our community’s children. Along the way, we also identified a key element within our community that needs our help and specific attention including the Henry County Foster Care program.

Their Overwhelming Journey
The process of finding temporary homes can be frightening, exhausting, and overwhelming for a foster child. When a foster care child is moved to the next stop on their endless journey to find a loving home, sadly, most arrive with little more than the clothes they’re wearing.
As a practice, relocation personnel give the children a garbage bag to put their items into during the move. This practice often delivers an unintended message that these children, and their personal belongings, are nothing more than garbage being removed from the house.
Personalizing Hope
To combat this false and devastating message, the Raise Me Up Foundation created the Bag of Blessings campaign. Our goal is to provide EVERY child in the Foster care system their own personalized duffle/travel bag. Thes bags are filled with essential items including a blanket, journal, toiletries, clothing, stuffed animals, toys, school supplies and more. Through these “bags of blessings”, we hope to share the love we, as parents, community leaders, faith based organizations, business leaders, and community members have for ALL of OUR CHILDREN.
