Their Overwhelming Journey
The process of finding temporary homes can be frightening, exhausting, and overwhelming for a foster child. When a foster care child is moved to the next stop on their endless journey to find a loving home, sadly, most arrive with little more than the clothes they’re wearing.
As a practice, relocation personnel give the children a garbage bag to put their items into during the move. This practice often delivers an unintended message that these children, and their personal belongings, are nothing more than garbage being removed from the house.
